Carrels
Facing the Community Center
A
reading area is created by pushing the library wall out into the
circulation strip. The metal floor of the ramp folds up to become
the wall as well as the roof. At two points, the cladding further
extends to become metal desks. A L-shaped, interlocking relationship
is formed between the library and the circulation strips. Users
in either area are part of both spaces, and the boundary is blurred.
