Model Builder Busby + Associates Architects, Vancouver (5.2000)

  • Built a large-scale model for a residential / commercial high-rise in downtown Vancouver.

 

Intern Shanghai Institute of Architectural Design and Research, China (7-8.1997)

  • Designed and drafted the interior of a restaurant at the new Shanghai Main Library.
  • Prepared AutoCAD construction drawings of a lecture building in Jiaotong University.
  • Participated in the preliminary design and final submission of the competition entry for the Bao Steel High Technology Park at the Zhang Jiang High Technology Development District of Pudong.

 

Intern Chinese Community Housing Corporation, San Francisco (6-8.1995)

  • Conducted the first phase of a research for devising the standard design specification manuals for non-profit housing corporations.
  • Organized a database for the Property Management Department through revising the construction submittals with physical investigation into buildings and verification of the information in the field.

 

Architectural Assistant Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hong Kong (6-8.1994)

  • Designed outdoor recreational spaces and footbridges of a public housing estate in Kowloon.
  • Participated in quality control of the construction of high-rise housing blocks (according to ISO 9000) with documentation of bi-weekly site inspections and evaluation meetings.
  • Worked in the Specifications Improvement Committee to process and organize complaints gathered from different work groups in the Housing Authority.
  • Administration work included drafting preliminary documentation for contractor bids, preparing work schedules and meeting minutes.

 

Architectural Trainee WMKY Architects Engineers Ltd., Hong Kong (6-8.1993)

  • Designed lift lobbies and building facades of a high-rise residential building in Kowloon.
  • Hand-drafted building details and interiors, and assisted in presentations to clients.
  • Translated instructions on drawings from English to Chinese for works in China.
