There
are two main sequences linking up the volumes - the gallery sequence
and the public space sequence, and they intertwine to form a tight-knit
whole The gallery sequence links up three galleries of different
sizes on different levels by internal circulation. The visitor
is guided by the light washing the wall at the ends of various
twists and turns, and the sequence culminates at the bright, side-lit
space connecting to the garden. The public space sequence links
up the rest of the space, and circulation is on the exterior cutting
through the volume or sliding between volumes. The two sequences
intertwine to form a tight-knit whole. The spaces are more often
connected visually than physically. In this way, visitors to the
museum would always be aware the presence of other spaces and
they could often see what is happening at the spaces when they
pass by on the way. This maximizes the interaction of the community
and the museum.
